Golfing in Kashmir
Kashmir offers a unique opportunity to play golf all through the summer – from April to November – in invigorating surroundings, where the wind whispers through enormous trees of Chinar and stately pine.
In the verdant golf courses at Srinagar and Gulmarg, you will be able to play for longer hours than you can in the plains because of the lower temperatures – Srinagar's highest temperature seldom goes above 35°C. The layout of both the courses, too, will delight the golfers. Srinagar has an 18-hole golf course with common fairways, and a par of 70. This course is open throughout the year, unless snowbound in winter

River Cruise in Kashmir
Popularly known as water trekking, the cruise is undertaken in a gondola type boat pulled by two oarsmen at the stern. One such boat can accommodate 3 – 4 people comfortably. It usually starts from Dal Lake and ends at the mighty Wular Lake in due south of the valley via the historic River Jehlum and can be accomplished in 4 days. Tourists are provided tented accommodation and bedding and food throughout the entire course. Water trekking is a journey to re-discover the culture and civilization of Kashmir. To have some idea of this spectacular cruise, one is recommended to get a copy of the OUTLOOK Travel Magazine edition and read the storey as told by two Indian journalists who recorded their experience in the special feature segment of their journey which was arranged and organized by Amin Chapri’s brother Mr. Ibrahim Chapri. A complete itinerary of the cruise can be had on request. The return journey to Srinagar can be made by car.
Kashmir is a land traversed by wild mountain streams and
high altitude lakes where Rainbow and Salmon thrive in abundance. It is
rightly called Anglers’ Paradise. The best season of the year is from May –
October. A permit, issued by the Department of Fisheries, J & K Government
against a fixed tariff is a pre-requisite.
