The Firm :
The Firm was found in the year 1988 under the dynamic and indefatigable leadership of M.Amin Chapri. The concept behind this establishment was to design tour packages of different time limits and provide other travel related services to home as well as inbound holiday makers who wanted to spend their vacations in calm and serenity. Later on, some more features were added to its profile in order to give the activities of the firm a broader spectrum. Therefore, a superb blend of conventional and non-conventional Tourism was introduced to cater the requirements of our esteemed clientele. With the time KGL has now become a name to be reckoned with among the leading tour operators of Kashmir, patronized by distinguished travel houses of India for delivering the goods even in face of most unfavourable situations.
KASHMIRGUIDELINE offers various services to travelers to Kashmir, Ladakh and
other parts of India. These include accommodation, transportation,
consultations in designing their itineraries, and making logistic and other
arrangements for camping, angling and bird watching enthusiasts. KGL , having
liaison with all well known hotels in Kashmir and Ladakh also operates a fleet
of houseboats - ranging from 'A' to super deluxe categories, in twin lakes of
Dal and Nageen.
KGL is a name synonymous with trekking expeditions to exotic and wild places
in Kashmir and Ladakh. White water Rafting is yet another feature which has
been added to our field of specialty, as this thrilling sport has become an
indispensable part of the itinerary of rafting enthusiasts. Similarly the
traditional cruise, through the heart of the Old City of Srinagar down the
Jhelum, the mythological Vitasta or Hydaspas as recorded by Greek Historians to the shores of the
mighty Wular Lake in the west of the Valley is also offered to travelers to
Kashmir.
Amin Chapri
Amin Chapri hails from a family of pioneers of Tourism in Kashmir. His father Mr. Iqbal Chapri and Grandfather Abdul Gaffar Chapri , popularly known as I.Gaffara were most distinguished personalities of their time. They were great trekkers and guides and led many expeditions to Western Himalayas and as far as Central Asia and Yarkand. Mr. Iqbal had profound knowledge of history of Kashmir which he would share with his guests who came to stay on his houseboats. His knowledge of comparative religions was superb.
He was an expert in all departments of tourist trade. He was highly respected by his community whom he jokingly called the "Survivors of the Prophet Noah's Ark". His presence of mind led him to making jokes and chiding others. He was generously gifted with a great sense of art and perfection of detail. The interiors of his houseboats HAIFA and HIAWATHA bear testimony to this fact.

The visitors, the tourists and the naturalists, hailing from different
regions of the world, counting hundreds, penned down their thoughts
reminiscent of their sojourn in the frequented Valley and their stay aboard
Mr.Iqbal's houseboats. Here are some rich and appealing comments of those who
went away with fresher minds.
